Understanding Centre County Released Inmates
A person is a Centre County released inmate only after the responsible authority records an end to the custody being examined. At the Centre County Correctional Facility, that event might be bond, a court order, time served, expiration of a county sentence, county parole, or a handoff to another agency. The last option ends county custody but does not put the person back in the community. The same care applies to a state prisoner. Parole from a Pennsylvania prison, full discharge, placement in community corrections, and transfer to another institution are different events.
Centre County does not publish a native inmate roster or a public archive of released people. Its page titled “Inmate Listing” sends users to PA SAVIN through VINELink. When a name is absent, the next step is to confirm the event with the agency, not to label the person released. Centre County Correctional Facility Inmate Records holds the county custody record. PADOC holds state-prison records. A court docket can explain the legal authority, while the facility record supplies the actual custody-end event.
Centre County Release Types and Destinations
The record label determines where a person may appear next. Bond does not end the criminal case. Work release is an authorized absence followed by return to the jail. A PADOC or ICE handoff is not a community release. Reading the disposition code and destination together prevents a false conclusion.

Fields in a Centre County Release Record
CCCF does not display its release form online, so a requester should ask for existing fields without promising that every field appears or is public. Tie the request to one booking or commitment. Ask for the photograph separately, since the agency may apply a different access analysis to the image.

A docket timestamp and the facility's execution time need not match. Court records show the order, bail action, sentence, or disposition. CCCF records show when jail custody actually ended. Use both if exact timing and legal reason matter.
Request Centre County Release Records
The county uses its NextRequest portal for formal public-record requests. A narrow request is easier to identify and review than a demand for every record about a person. Name Centre County Correctional Facility or Inmate Records, give a useful date range and booking number if known, and request electronic copies.

The county lists standard black-and-white copies at $0.25 per page and certification at $1 per record. Specialized records may be charged at actual cost. A request totaling $100 or more may require a 25 percent deposit. Under the county's RTKL policy, the agency generally responds within five business days or invokes an allowed extension, generally up to 30 calendar days.
Centre County Release Record Access Law
Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know Law, 65 P.S. §§ 67.101 to 67.3104, governs access to many local and executive-agency records, subject to exemptions. The criminal-investigation exemption appears at 65 P.S. § 67.708(b)(16), while CHRIA is found in 18 Pa.C.S. Chapter 91. These laws do not make every field or every photograph automatically public.

Centre County's VINE-only page states no release-record retention period. No online archive does not mean the source record was destroyed. Ask County Records or CCCF which retention schedule applies. Centre County Bond Release Is Not Dismissal
Centre County's jail FAQ says full bond may be posted personally or through a licensed bonding agent. Staff cannot recommend an agent, and an agent's fee is nonrefundable. Magisterial District Judges set and accept bail at the early court stage. Posting bail authorizes release on that case, but another charge, warrant, or detainer can keep the person in custody.

If the court shows bail posted while PA SAVIN still shows custody, do not override the facility status. Processing may still be under way, or another authority may have a hold.
Centre County's Dated Release Baseline
Centre County's reentry background page provides historical context, not a live release total. Its 2014 figures reported 1,829 commitments, including 1,143 Centre County inmates and 686 people from other counties or PADOC. The same dated source reported 795 sentenced county inmates paroled and 66 released at maximum.
Those counts should never be described as a present annual rate. They do show why “parole” and “maximum release” are separate record outcomes. Current jail population reports also cannot be repurposed as release counts.
Search for a Released Centre County Inmate
The fastest accurate search begins with custody type. Centre County's own listing page points to PA SAVIN, but no single portal covers every county, state, federal, and immigration release. Work from the last confirmed authority outward.
- For CCCF, search VINELink by exact name or offender ID, then verify the facility and identity details.
- Call CCCF at 814-355-6794. Option 0 checks present custody; Option 1 reaches Inmate Records for the custody-ending event and record route.
- Search the UJS portal for the Centre County MDJ and Common Pleas dockets that may show bail, orders, sentence, or disposition.
- For state custody, search both PADOC Inmate Locator and Department Supervised Individual Locator modes.
- For federal custody use BOP and PACER or USMS as needed. For immigration custody use ICE ODLS.
- When the exact date or type remains unclear, request the agency's existing release or discharge record.
A missing name is not release proof. It may reflect transfer, data lag, an alias, full discharge, or a system that never covered the person.
PADOC Search for Centre County Releases
The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections locator has an Inmate Locator for people currently under PADOC jurisdiction and a Department Supervised Individual Locator for people currently supervised in the community. The site says it updates daily. A person who moves from an inmate result to a supervised result may have entered parole or another form of state community supervision. Full discharge can remove the person from both current-population modes.

The public inmate detail reviewed did not show a projected, tentative, minimum, maximum, or release-date field. The supervised-person side has a “Release Date” label and district-office information, but that does not prove a CCCF release. Centre County Recent Release List Limits
As reviewed on August 1, 2026, the official Centre County “Inmate Listing” contained instructions for VINELink rather than booking cards, photographs, or a county roster. It published no 24-hour or 72-hour feed, no refresh cadence, no archive period, and no county-defined release fields. Do not build a release list by saving a current list and subtracting names later. The difference could include transfers, corrections, system lag, or identity changes. PA SAVIN can provide a release, escape, or movement event for one matched person. For a complete existing record covering a stated period, ask the county whether it holds a responsive release report.
Centre County Release Processing and Pickup
CCCF says processing time depends on the number of simultaneous bookings and releases and on cooperation during processing. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are traditionally busiest. The county does not publish a fixed release hour, guaranteed exit, or weekend timetable. Families should confirm that release is complete and ask CCCF about the actual pickup point before traveling.
The facility's telephone policy says a person who needs to arrange immediate transportation will be offered a call before release. That is a chance to coordinate, not a promise of a ride or pickup time. Central Booking directions describe a CBC intake entrance near a garage door, but the county does not identify it as the release exit.
Getting Home After a Centre County Release
CCCF is at 700 Rishel Hill Road in Bellefonte. County directions emphasize driving and on-site parking. Transit service around the Centre County Prison area can change, so release plans should not assume that a named route, stop, or on-demand ride will be available. Confirm current transportation with the provider and confirm the exit or pickup point with the facility.
A planned pickup should stay flexible when the jail is busy. A court order or bond entry shows authority for release, while the jail controls processing. Waiting for a direct call from the person or confirmation from Inmate Records is safer than estimating from a docket timestamp.
Court Proof for Centre County Releases
Centre County's court structure separates early and later case records. Magisterial District Judges conduct arraignments, set or accept bail, issue warrants, hold preliminary hearings, and act as committing judges. The Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts keeps permanent Common Pleas criminal records. Search both levels when a case moved beyond the MDJ stage.
The UJS portal can show case status, charges, filed events, bail, sentencing, and disposition when public. The Clerk permits public access on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 102 S. Allegheny Street, Room 102, Bellefonte, and can be reached at 814-355-6796. A docket explains authority. CCCF supplies the actual custody end.
Centre County Supervision After Release
County and state supervision use different offices. Centre County Probation and Parole, an arm of the Court of Common Pleas, handles county parole and probation. Its office is at 102 S. Allegheny Street, fourth floor, Bellefonte, and its phone number is 814-355-6771. State parole appears through the PADOC supervised-person locator and the state field district shown on a matching result.
The Centre County Reentry Coalition meets every other month at CCCF and links county agencies and local providers. Its historical materials define local recidivism as reincarceration within three years after release for a county-sentenced person. SCI Benner Township has a separate Reentry Service Office for people within 18 months of a minimum or release date. Neither program proves that a named person has been released.
Centre County Notifications and Federal Releases
PA SAVIN covers participating county jails, state prisons, and state parole. On VINELink, choose Pennsylvania, search one person by name or offender ID, verify the matching facility and identity, and read whether the event is release, escape, or movement. Registering can add phone, text, email, or app alerts, but the service warns users not to rely on it alone.
Federal paths are separate. The BOP Inmate Locator covers released federal inmates from 1982 forward and can show a release date and “RELEASED” or “Not in BOP Custody.” That proves exit from BOP custody, not freedom from every authority. Federal pretrial defendants may remain under USMS control at changing facilities, so PACER and the Middle District USMS are the better durable channels.
Centre County Release to ICE Means Transfer
If CCCF records “released to ICE,” county custody ended and immigration custody began. It is not community release. The ICE Online Detainee Locator searches by A-number and country of birth or by exact name, country, and optional birth date. Official guidance says it includes people currently detained and people released from ICE custody within the last 60 days.
That 60-day period is an ICE locator scope, not a Centre County release list. After the window closes, a missing result does not distinguish conditional release, removal, transfer, or another outcome. Call the ICE information line at 888-351-4024 during its stated weekday hours or use the appropriate records channel when the immigration outcome matters.
Rockview Closure Changed Centre County Searches
SCI Rockview closed after about 111 years. PADOC announced its final closure decision in September 2025, the last incarcerated people moved on February 13, 2026, and operations ended around March 1, 2026. Closure did not release the population. Former Rockview prisoners were transferred according to program, security, and health needs.
Search former Rockview names statewide through PADOC. A result at SCI Albion, SCI Benner Township, or another state institution is evidence of movement, not community discharge. Forestry-camp records were administratively shifted to Benner's roster, which makes the location field especially easy to misread.
Where Centre County Release Status Appears
Choose the system that matches the last known custody. Present-custody tools answer a different question from historical release records.

Centre County Release Facilities
Three facilities belong in the Centre County map. Each has a different status and release path. Central Booking is part of CCCF, not a separate jail. No BOP or ICE facility was identified inside Centre County.
