Where CCCF Releases Go
Centre County Correctional Facility holds people awaiting trial and people serving county sentences. Leaving CCCF can mean release on bond, a dismissal or court order, time served, sentence expiration, county parole, or movement to another authority. Only some of those outcomes return the person to the community. A transfer to PADOC, another county, USMS, or ICE ends CCCF custody but continues detention elsewhere.
The booking or release sheet is the best county record for the date, time, disposition code, and receiving agency. A UJS docket adds legal context, such as the bail action or sentencing order, but its timestamp is not necessarily the time the facility completed processing. Read the jail record and court record together rather than forcing the two clocks to match.
No online CCCF archive does not mean the source record was destroyed. Ask the county which retention schedule applies. A sealed, expunged, limited-access, juvenile, or destroyed court matter may also be unavailable online even when another agency once held a related custody record.
Confirm a CCCF Release or Transfer
Centre County's official inmate-listing page routes the public to PA SAVIN through VINELink. It is useful for a named status check, but a missing result is not proof. Confirm the record through the agency that held the person.
- Search VINELink under Pennsylvania by exact name or offender ID and verify that the result is tied to CCCF.
- Read the event carefully. Release, escape, and movement to another location are not interchangeable.
- Call 814-355-6794. Option 0 is the stated current-custody inquiry; Option 1 reaches Inmate Records.
- Search the Centre County MDJ and Common Pleas docket through the UJS portal for bail, dismissal, sentence, or transfer context.
- Request the existing release record if the exact custody-end time, disposition, or destination is needed.

For a formal county request, use the Centre County NextRequest portal. Identify CCCF or Inmate Records, the person, a narrow booking period, and a booking number if known. Ask for the existing booking or release sheet, custody-end date and time, release or disposition code, receiving agency if transferred, and the photograph as a separate item.
CCCF Release Record Fields
The county does not display the exact release form online. The safest request describes the fields sought without claiming that each appears or is public. These fields answer different parts of the release question.

Ask for an existing code or field, not for an employee to research and write a new explanation. If the county denies or redacts material, read the cited exemption and appeal instructions before responding.
Centre County lists standard black-and-white copies at $0.25 per page and certification at $1 per record. Specialized records may be billed at actual cost, and a request totaling at least $100 may require a 25 percent deposit. The county generally responds under the Right-to-Know Law within five business days or invokes an allowed extension, generally up to 30 calendar days.
A written appeal to the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records generally must be filed within 15 business days of the response or deemed denial and include the request, agency response, and grounds. Judicial records can follow a different access and appeal route, so a CCCF record dispute and a Clerk of Courts record dispute should not be merged.
CCCF Release Processing and Pickup
CCCF says processing time varies with the number of simultaneous bookings and releases and with cooperation during processing. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are traditionally busiest. No fixed release hour, door, weekend schedule, or guaranteed transportation provider is published.
The facility's telephone policy says a person who needs to arrange immediate transportation will be offered a phone call before release. Families should wait for direct coordination or confirm completion with Inmate Records before leaving for Rishel Hill Road. Central Booking directions identify a CBC intake entrance near a garage door, but that description is not proof that the same entrance serves as the release exit.

Bond Release from Centre County Jail
The CCCF FAQ says full bond can be posted personally or through a licensed bonding agent. The agent may charge a nonrefundable fee, and jail staff cannot recommend an agent. Centre County Magisterial District Judges set and accept bail at the early court stage.
Bond ends the immediate detention authorized by that case, not the case itself. Another charge, warrant, or detainer may prevent a community release even after bail is satisfied. The MDJ docket shows the judicial action; CCCF shows when it was executed and whether another hold controlled the next step.
CCCF Work Release Is Still Custody
Work release allows an approved person to leave for an authorized activity and return. It is not discharge. Centre County's guidelines require court eligibility and Warden approval. Participants must be sentenced on all charges and generally have no active detainers, warrants, or open charges. Institutional adjustment and medical or psychiatric approval also matter.
A photograph or sighting outside CCCF does not establish release. The person may be on work release, a court-approved furlough, a medical trip under custody, or another authorized movement. Use the facility status and release record rather than an observation.
CCCF Funds and Property at Release
The facility FAQ says a remaining account balance is provided on a debit card at release or mailed by check. The person has 72 hours to remove debit-card funds before a daily charge begins. That 72-hour deadline concerns money after release. It is not a public three-day release list or an online record-retention period.
Questions about the method used in a specific case should go to CCCF. The policy does not establish an exact release time, a universal amount, or a public field on VINELink.
Property and identification questions should also be directed to the facility because the published sources do not promise a universal handoff list. A records guide should not invent what every person receives. The documented account rule and transportation call are the reliable local points.
CCCF Release to ICE Is a Transfer
A CCCF disposition that sends someone to ICE ends county custody but begins or continues immigration custody. Search the ICE Online Detainee Locator by A-number and country of birth, or by exact name, country, and optional date of birth. ICE says its locator includes current detainees and people released from ICE custody within the last 60 days.
The ICE period does not create a CCCF 60-day feed. A person who disappears after that window may have been conditionally released, removed, transferred, or moved outside the public scope. Call the ICE information line or use records channels if the immigration outcome must be documented.
Centre County Correctional Facility History
The present county-owned facility was completed in 2005. Centre County's correctional history reaches back to an 1800 jail, an 1867 fortress-style jail that was destroyed by fire in 1959, and a 1964 jail that remained in use until the current building opened. Those older sites are historical context, not active places to request a release record.
Identity must be controlled across those records. Match a full name, middle name or alias, date of birth or age, booking number, custody dates, and facility. A photograph alone is not enough. When the county says no record exists, check whether the arrest led to CCCF commitment or whether a police department, court, PADOC, or another county held the person instead.
